Stacy, Drew, Whitley and I visited the NC Museum of Life and Science in Durham today. We have talked about going since approximately 150 sixth graders, 14 chaperones and I terrorized the place the last week of school. The whole time I watched my students explore, run, splash, dance, boom, bam and bang, I thought, "Drew and Whitley would LOVE this place!" And they did! It was especially fun to watch Drew interact with all the exhibits, as Whitley mostly observed. I can't wait for us all to go again when they're both older! Maybe a summer tradition?

Stacy and Drew play in a pool of sand and water that taught something... erosion, maybe? Drew loved it so much, he didn't seem to notice or mind the sun and heat!
Drew was pumped about the wind-chime/sound-making station, and Whitley had the most fun watching him!

Whitley finds a few toys more her speed in the "Gentle Zone" (hee hee), an area for infants and toddlers only. Incidentally, it was a little
too gentle for Drew. I believe Stacy called it a "snoozer." :)

I believe I was one of those chaperones "terrorizing the place!" Good times! We only lost a few students...
I'm so happy to keep up with Whitley this way. I had just thought that I was missing her (and you guys) this summer. We're at the beach this whole week but will be back for our GNO soon!
P.S. Don't forget to keep up with me on
