The summer weather I've experienced in Vermont over the past few years has been quite varied. Blazing hot, downright cold, gusty, humid, hazy, rainy- just about everything. However, every July there has been at least one perfect day- warm, bright and sunny- that allows visitors to fully appreciate the lush, natural beauty of the glowing Green Mountain State, and reminds me why Tom's parents, and so many others, "summer" in Vermont. Last Saturday we enjoyed such a day, taking in some local sites, and marveling at the colorful wildflowers that seem to flourish without effort across every field. These pictures are from a visit to a stone chapel built on a picturesque hill just outside of Lyndonville, Tom's hometown. The gardens and views were simply lovely. Whitley was her usual photogenic self, and seemed to appreciate the thick and gentle grass that grows so well up there.
