Yesterday, Tom, Whitley and I flew into Hartford, CT before driving an hour or so to visit some of Tom's relatives in Massachusetts. In the morning, I told Whitley that she was going to have a very busy afternoon, meeting a lot of fun family members for the first time. She was so excited, she hardly slept at all the whole day! This concerned me, because I wanted her to be smiling and alert for the introductions, but I needn't have worried. My little social butterfly was all grins from the moment we arrived at Linda and Roger's house around 3:00 until she finally went to bed around 9:45! The Vasas pair hosted a cookout for us, and cousins galore attended! Aunt Joyce was the first to arrive, quickly followed by her five children and their families, about 17 people in all. Tom and I were so touched at everyone's enthusiastic attendance of Whitley's New England deput. I'm proud to say, I don't think Whitley disappointed them. I happily watched as she giggled, squealed and smiled while passed from person to person, awarding all with big hugs. The evening passed quickly as we enjoyed catching-up with one another and sharing a delicious meal, which even included a birthday cake for Tom. Thank you so much, Wilson clan, for your warm hospitality. We cherish our visits with you!
This morning, Whitley got to meet Linda's horses before we headed up to VT. She was simply fascinated by them, not appearing the least bit nervous. Here we are with Zeus! He's giant and gorgeous!
