Catching Up: May

I'm going to back up a little and finish "catching up" on the last few months.  In May, we had some fun visitors!  Alyssa, Avery, and Cooper drove down from VA the same weekend Shelley, Linda and Aunt Joyce flew down from MA.  It was great to have a mini-reunion here in NC, and we hosted everyone at our house for a Saturday cookout.  Then Sunday morning, we had brunch at Grammy and Papa's.  Whitley and Avery are becoming fast friends, and I loved following them around to see what they were up to.  :)
The second weekend, we celebrated my birthday with a night out in Raleigh with my parents and Stacy and George, and then had Mothers' Day dinner at our house on Sunday.  I also did a lot of work on my National Boards' renewal in May since it was due at the end of the month.  My parents kindly took Whitley home with them for the week after Mothers' Day to allow me to work every night on finishing up my project.  Then I got to drive down and get her that Friday, and we squeezed in some beach time.  Good month, overall, but then May is always one of my favorites.  :)  Here are some pictures:
I love the way Avery talks. Her vocabulary is amazing, and she is so expressive.  For instance, when they were doing these sidewalk drawings, she shared, "Whitley, your turtles are so beautiful, they are distracting me from my own drawing."  That struck me as so cute and funny!
Dressing up to play Wii Just Dance.
More of the girls doing what little girls do- Hopscotch!  (Avery can jump!)
Our guests brought their hats over to watch the Kentucky Derby.  :)
Brunch at Grammy and Papa's.
Loving cousins.
Loving, yet somewhat violent, cousins attacking Uncle Dave.
Truly, I don't think he minded.  :)
We spent one weekend afternoon with Stacy and the Davis boys.  Drew brought his Batman costume since Whitley now has Catwoman.  They are ready for the big screen!
Turn on the Burlington Carousel.
Flying high with David.
Sometime in the spring, Whitley got interested in baseball.  She got pretty good at hitting the wiffle ball!
CC and Day Day like to play, too.  David's ready to smack it!
Mothers' Day. So incredibly thankful for my Mommy and my daughter.
Good picture with Day Day, too.
One more with dear CC.
My doll baby at the beach!

She loves to strike a pose!
