Spring Mix

Here is a mix of pics from other days this spring!

The camp where Whitley attends after-school each day had an "Open House" one Sunday afternoon.  We dropped by to check out some of their many activities.

Whitley really liked taking a few turns around on this horse!

She also got to shoot a real bow and arrow for the first time.

I tried to show her how.  :)

Her form was really good, I thought.  She just didn't quite have the strength to pull it back very far.  Maybe next year!

One rainy, chilly weekend we visited the Mebane Conservator's Center- a place we'd been wanting to go to for a while!  It houses a slew of wild animals, particularly those of the large cat family.  Tom, Whitley, Grammy, Papa and I went along on one of their "Treats and Toys" tours.  I could not get over the size of the animals, and how well we were able to see them up close!

One of the many lions.  They came right up to the fence for their meat "treats."  Just make sure you step out of the way if they turn their back sides around!  We saw a few of them spray!

There were some beautiful wolves there, too, as well as lemurs and many smaller wild cat breeds.

After the Conservators' Center, we had lunch at a local Hibachi grill.  Whitley liked the food, but didn't care for the fire demonstration!  She ducked under the table!

Another Sunday afternoon, Whitley's friend Rylee came over to play for Whitley's first, official play date!  Her little friend attends Whitley's school and after-school camp.  Princess dresses were donned pretty quickly!

The Saturday before Mother's Day, we went to watch David play soccer.  Here Drew and Whitley pose on the sidelines.

They were pretty interested in climbing all over the playground.
(But David was so good!  He's a speedy one who doesn't give up!)
