Easter Fun

Waiting for the hunt to begin!
The Kindergarten classes at Whitley's school had a giant Easter egg hunt one afternoon.  I was able to get coverage for one of my classes so that I could go help scatter the eggs.  A handful of moms and I spread them all over a giant field before the kids arrived.  Then they lined up along a fence and waited for the hunt to begin.  It was so entertaining to watch them race up the hill and start pausing to collect the eggs.  I watched Whitley pass by several, peering at eggs but not picking them up!  When she came my way, she explained that she liked the glitter ones.  She ended up with about half as many as other kids in her class, but she didn't seem to mind.  She was thrilled to have the ones she picked out, and was so thankful and proud to have me there.  :)
On Easter morning, Whitley woke up to her usual egg hunt, followed by exploring her basket of goodies.  This year she was pretty excited to receive a Pigeon book by favorite author Mo Willems and a Minnie Mouse dress.  That afternoon we went over to Grammy and Papa's for a lovely Easter meal with Dave and Terri.
Here they come!
