We've been enjoying a mild December and trying to make the most of the season by sprinkling our weeks with some holiday fun. On Dec. 1, we headed to Elon University, which celebrates Christmas by lighting their main courtyard. Santa was there, and different choruses and musicians performed. I thought the hundreds of luminaries lining every walkway were most beautiful. We walked all around, taking in the scenery, amidst the many giggling, hugging college kids. Whitley was fascinated that Santa was there, and kept her eyes peeled for him the whole time, but was too frightened to approach him. She definitely liked running down the glowing paths.

Watching the performers and looking for Santa!

There was one big tree all lit up.

Whitley smiling,

and being very silly. :)

Then on Sunday, Dec. 4, Whitley and I went to Disney On Ice: Dare to Dream show. It told the stories of
The Princess and the Frog,
Cinderella, and
Tangled, so for us, it was a must see! We had great seats, and Whitley looked and clapped in wonder as her favorite characters twirled and waved. My eyes actually welled up at the grand finale, with the familiar music and shooting fireworks- leave it to Disney to put on a great show! Can't wait to go in January!!

Cinderella heads to the ball in her carriage.

This was a cool part of the show. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider did many lifts and tricks with long satin scarves representing her "hair". When I've asked Whitley about the show afterwards, she always says, "Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were flying!"

EVERYONE came out at the end! :)
