Hanging Out with Baby David

Whitley's sweet cousin, Baby David, isn't our family's little baby anymore! He turned two on August 10, and we Watsons were happy to spend some quality time with him during his birthday week. On the 11th, Whitley and I joined CC, Day Day, and David on a quick two-night stay in Myrtle Beach. Whitley and David play well together, so they had a blast running around the beach, and CC and Day Day's house, and diving in the ball tent. I liked getting to spend a little extra time with him myself and tried to sneak some kisses and hugs whenever I could. We returned on Saturday, and David's birthday party was that afternoon. Tom helped put up the giant inflatable water slide Stacy planned for the kids' entertainment. David is so brave- he flies down, loving every second! The Gundies, Judy, Uncle Mark and Mary joined us all for a delicious Cajun dinner and gourmet cupcakes. Yum! Stacy did it up right! Then on Sunday, we were happy to host a cookout at our house, and the cousins enjoyed some more water fun in the baby pool and sprinkler. It was a great weekend!

David, you bring all of us such joy with your sweet, funny self! Like CC wrote in your card, it's hard to think back to before your dimpled smile was a part of our silly bunch. We love you, Honey Badger!
Chillin' oceanside.

Snacks in the McQueen chairs. Always a must.

Of course, Goldfish are a hit at home, too!

Stopping by a Smithfield's- also a requirement for a trip to Myrtle.

There he goes!! His little body flops all over that slide! CC couldn't watch it; she went up on the porch. :)

Of course, big brother Drewby knows how it's done!

Whitley was too scared to climb all the way to the top, but she let some of us put her about 3/4 up multiple times.

See the Elmo and Cookie Monster cupcakes for the kids? Drew, Whitley and David are pretty excited about them!

The Elmo was for the birthday boy- his request. :)

Love. Him.

Yikes! This is actually a bit frightening. She sure enjoyed it, though!

Playing with the sprinkler.

The Honey Badgers in motion.

Sweet Grands.

In costume. Because, why not?

Day Day announced each one as famous entertainers here to put on a show for us. He introduced them individually, and they loved entering the porch to our applause.

Smart Drew had a cute idea. As a famous character, he figured everyone would like a photo with him, so he posed with each of his grandparents. Whitley joined in for CC's. :)
