We have enjoyed a break from traveling the last couple of weeks, and have had some fun at home. Here are pictures of some of the highlights! (Including our first family trip to ZBowl!!)
On Tuesday, July 26, Whitley got her first haircut! (When you're bald until 2 and have tight curls, this comes a little later than other kids.) She sat perfectly and watched a movie while I trimmed a little less than an inch off. I think I did a pretty good job, even though it was tricky! Her little curls bounced right up after I cut them, making it hard to tell if the lengths were even. Whitley was so excited about it, though. Afterwards, she kept admiring herself in the mirror and saying, "I got a haircut like Drew and David!"
One morning, Whitley and I made ramps for Lightning McQueen and her other "Cars" and rolled them all over the living room and kitchen. It was a lot of fun!
Here comes Francesco!
Whitley got to pick out a special treat this week, and she wanted this Tinkerbell dress! I've never seen her beg for something like she did this dress, "Mommy, I NEEEEEED it! It has WINGS!!"
But it has already been money well spent. She's worn it multiple times everyday since!
Whitley also received a new big girl car seat! She'd been complaining a lot lately about being uncomfortable in her old one, and though she's not quite four, yet, my 100th percentile baby girl certainly exceeds the height and weight requirements. She climbed in as soon as she saw it- she loved that it's pink!
She was happy here, but she was furious when I said we had to go back inside. She wanted to ride straight to Drew's house and show him her new seat, so much like his.
This was a special treat! Daddy pulled out all of his childhood Star Wars toys for the two of them to play. Whitley was- again!- soooo excited about this. If Daddy and Drew like it, it must be great! (I have to admit it- Tom's got a lot of cool stuff!)

Whitley's first time bowling! She was super enthusiastic about this, too. Here she's watching her ball roll towards the pins after pushing it down the ramp. (See her little shoes? They have toddler sizes!)
Our local bowling alley opened just a few years ago, and it's really nice. Everything is so modern and clean! It was my first time visiting it, also, and I was impressed!
Daddy helps Whitley.
So happy about knocking down some pins!! She cheered, "I did it!" after every turn. Of course, she did use the ramp and bumpers. :)
This is simply humiliating, but Tom told me to take a picture of it. Whitley beat us with a score of 101. (That would be my big "81" up there, with three gutter balls. Abysmal.) Another thing I liked about this place though, was that you could choose your screen theme, and we went with Whitley's favorite- Oceans! Everytime we got a strike or spare (which wasn't that often) it would do cute videos of a shark or lobster or something. Whitley was so pleased with this that she would run to watch the screen after each turn, and before we'd bowl she'd yell, "We need a shark!!"
