Christmas Eve

Tom and I hosted Christmas Eve for our family members in town. Folks came and went throughout the day, bringing food and drinks to share. There was quite the buffet of treats! Yum. But more significantly, there was a lot of fun! We were so happy to celebrate with so many special people! My Aunt Kim and cousin Matt drove in from Mississippi the day before to stay with us, and they came bearing gifts for Whitley. Aunt Kim gave her one to open early, and Whitley couldn't have been happier with the the present. It was a "treasure chest" of princess dresses and accessories, and Whitley immediately changed out of her pj's and into one outfit after another. The pink dress ended up being her favorite, as you shall see in the pictures from the day. :)

Whitley shared a wand with CC, and the two danced all over the living room.
She was so graceful, swaying, spinning, and bowing.
The Whitley boys were the first to arrive. Look at my handsome young cousins!
The three Whitley siblings, looking wonderful after a frightening year!
I had clothed Whitley in a different outfit for the occasion, but she insisted on wearing her pink princess dress. I guess she figured Christmas Eve was the perfect night for a short, sequined party dress!
Loving on her Day Day!
During our last trip to Myrtle Beach, Whitley took a spin or two on Drew's four-wheeler, so Day Day figured she was ready for one of her own. Here he presents her with her new ride!
Meanwhile, Tom was setting up the deck for flip cup. Several family members played (with and without alcohol), and it was such fun! I believe my team ended up winning. hee hee
Whitley was a little bit timid to ride her new wheels at first, but loved hanging on to Drew, of course. The two were squealing as they flew all over the yard. It was hard to get a picture!
Dave and Terri arrived later in the afternoon in their festive wear.

And the flip cup turned to beer pong.
Cousin Matty gave Whitley a princess bag to complete her look. It was full of earrings and other jewelry, too.
CC and Judy have a seat with sweet David.
My loving aunts and I.
Drew got a new play-doh activity the kids played with, as well as Whitley's play-doh cupcake decorating set. Cousin Melanie was great at it, of course!
The fellas get some quality time together.
Aunt Mary gave Whitley a Melissa and Doug cupcake set, which includes "icing" (markers) used to decorate the cupcakes.
To end the evening, Tom shared with Whitley a special present from Grammy- a recording of her voice reading The Night Before Christmas.
And what a wonderful night it was. :) Thanks for coming, everyone!
