I went to the pool with my famle. I went to ccs daydays by my salf. I went to a tea party.
Whitley is blogging! She and I wrote summer bucket lists in early June, and we thought that Whitley could keep a journal of her activities this summer. Well, it is actually her least favorite item on her list (hee hee), but I thought she'd like it better if she helped with the blog!
Anyway, I've finally caught up to summer with these blogs and can start sharing what we've been up to since school let out. June was busy!
| On the last day of school, a bunch of us teachers went out in Durham on a pub crawl organized by my fun-loving husband. It was a riot- certainly an exciting end to a great school year! |
| Aunt Marge, Uncle Don and cousin Karen came down that same week. Karen joined us on the pub crawl while Whitley spent the night with her Grandparents and Great Aunt and Uncle. Tom, Karen, and I met up with them the next day to have lunch and go swimming. |
| That same evening, Tom, Whitley and I met up with my side of the family for a nice meal to celebrate Father's Day. (Adults only! It was a good time!) |
| On Father's Day morning, Day Day gets some help opening his presents. |
| He loved the wireless speaker we gave him! |
| We were back at our house for Fathers' Day afternoon, and had a little celebration for Aunt Terri's birthday, too. |
| Whitley spent the week with CC and Day Day in South Carolina while Tom and I had teacher workdays. We joined them Thursday evening, and spent a lovely weekend down there. |
| On a ride to Bird Island. |
| Whitley loves to help drive! |
| The last week of June, I attended a technology training, while Whitley and Tom had Daddy-Daughter camp. :) Monday's activity was taking in a Durham Bulls game. |
| And Whitley got picked to go on the field! Our precious mini-Woolly Bull followed the mascot around the bases and did a few dance moves at the bottom of the fifth inning. |
| My training didn't go as long as I thought each day, so I joined up with my family for some of the fun. :) On Wednesday we went bowling, to the used bookstore, the library, and a snow cone stand! I have told Tom multiple times about how popular snow balls were in Biloxi and Louisiana when I was growing up, so I was quite thrilled and surprised to fine one in our little town! |
| It is a chain called "Pelican's Snow Balls," and prides themselves on serving ones just like you find in New Orleans. Yummy! |
| On Saturday, June 28, Whitley and I attended a tea party at Mae Mae's church. It was a fundraiser, and was very well done! Whitley was quite happy to earn the job of distributing the favors to guests. |
| We sat at a table designed by Melanie and got to use her new wedding china! |
| Jessica was there, too. |
| Lovely Mae Mae does it again! |
| Mae Mae borrowed Whitley's table and chairs as a decoration. She had this little scene set up in the foyer of the church. That afternoon, when Whitley and I got home, she set up the table just like this in our living room. She got two of her fancy dolls to sit in the chairs, used a blanket as a table cloth, and laid out her own tea set. She learns from the best! |
