Thanksmas!

On Dec. 15, the Corbett side of my family celebrated our 2nd annual Thanksmas.  And what a large time was had by all!  Everyone contributed to the day in some way, and the result was an afternoon and evening jam-packed with all sorts of fun.  We had two fried turkeys, with the yummy cajun potatoes and onion rings, as well as our kitchen table full of appetizers and sweets.  CC brought the stuff for two games- one in which partners ran around the yard trying to bust the balloons of opposing teams.  That was a riot, especially since Mae Mae and Uncle Mike layed low until nearly all the other teams were out.  The other game required pairs to wrap a present together, using just one hand each.  Funny enough, Mae Mae was on the cheating team once again!  This time with Day Day (no suprise there.)  Stacy said it was the funniest thing she saw all day- Dad on look out for Mom while Mae Mae wrapped the present herself.  Doesn't matter.  Stephen and I took everyone by surprise and were the winners!  Hooray!  In between turkey feeds, Tom led a group of us in a hike around the neighborhood.  Whitley carried her pink walking stick, of course, and Drew and David ended up each getting one of their own.  Aunt Betty and Uncle Mike had made them in time for the occasion.  Betty also brought a ton of candy and a Sponge Bob pinata for the kids.  We set that up in the garage.  Later, the adults played my favorite garage game- flip cup!  Tom and I always have flip cup going on at our parties, and so it was so exciting to play with my family.  And it turns out, I get all of my cup-flipping skills from CC!  She was the star of the game, her first time playing!!  Towards the end of the evening we sang some karaoke in the living room.  Tom stole the show with his rendition of Billy Mack's "Christmas All Around," which he sang not once, but twice.  Ha!  Oh, and the kids also decorated gingerbread cookies on the porch.  I truly think we had everything but a partridge in a pear tree!  What a holiday to remember!
