A Very Merry Christmas

Christmas was so busy and fun, and flew by so fast that I can't believe it's already mid-January!  Truly, I felt like it came and went in a blink of an eye.  Maybe it's because it gets more and more exciting as Whitley gets older and anticipates it so wholeheartedly.  :)  Whatever the cause, I'm glad I've got some nice pictures to help savor the days.
Posing at the Polar Express.
On Thursday, Dec. 20, we joined the Davises at their country club for a "Polar-Express" themed event.  It included a delicious buffet and a wet and chilly train ride, but the hi-light was wearing pajamas and meeting Santa!  On the way, Whitley told me she was going to ask Santa for a Merida suitcase- an item she'd spied months ago at the Disney store and had coveted ever since.  She also confided, "I think I'm gonna ride his sleigh home." :) The train ride around the golf course was a bit of a disappointment because of the rainy weather, but Whitley made everyone in our "train car" giggle at her indignant complaints.  "Mommy, is this the train TO the Polar Express?  Because this is NOT the Polar Express!" Oh, well!  Prior to this night, Whitley'd been shy around Santa.  Happy to talk to him, but only from a safe distance.  However, after watching Drew and David sit with St. Nick a while, she cheerfully joined in.  I thought it was so sweet to watch her whisper in his ear what she'd like.  She was beaming as she skipped away from him, and I asked her if she told him about the Merida suitcase.  "Yep!" she answered proudly, "And I told him I want a computer!" Ha!  Let's just say that took this little elf by surprise!

The country club was beautiful and the decorations were lovely.

Santa with one for the nice list!
Asking for a computer?!  :)
Opening a present at Grammy and Papa's.
On Sunday, Dec. 23, Grammy and Papa hosted us for a yummy Christmas dinner with turkey and all the fixins.  It was nice to celebrate together in their new place; it looked great all decorated for the holidays.  We played a few games that Terri brought, including a super fun one I'd never tried before- Buzz Word.  Whitley participated a little.  She named our team the "Jollies," which Terri and I thought was very cute!

Whew!  Turkey will wear you out!  :)
Stylish cousin Jamie had two super cute outfits for Whitley, and darling boots!
That same evening, we dropped by Stacy's to see Jamie, Matt, and Aunt Kim who were in town for a quick weekend visit.
