The Christmas fun continues! Last Saturday, Whitley spent the night at Grammy and Papa's after we all went over there to make gingerbread cookies. Whitley is a pro at rolling out the dough and using the cookie cutters. It sure was a delightful and delicious way to spend the afternoon!
Then on Sunday, Whitley and I met up with Stacy, Drew, CC, Mae Mae and Melanie at Brixx in Chapel Hill before heading to UNC for a performance of "The Nutcracker". Mae Mae treated Melanie, Stacy and me to the show twice since Stacy moved here in 2007, and we all enjoyed it so much both times. I remember saying, "It'll be nice to take Whitley, too, when she's five," so it was very exciting to get the advertisement in the mail and realize that this was the year! Stacy knew Drew would like it, too, so he got a ticket as well. The kids did really well for most of the show, and were quite enthralled by the magic, the dancing, and the music. (I think it felt a little long, though, because they were literally bouncing in their seats by the end.) Regardless, it was a holiday-spirited way to start December!
