Happy Birthday, Drew!

Drew is 6 today!  Yay!  We all love our big boy sooooo much!  He has been the coolest kid from the moment he was born, and has yet to disappoint.  So, it's no surprise that he had the coolest, most awesome, fun birthday party EVER.  At least in terms of what I think.  Seriously, I can not imagine a more perfect birthday party idea for me.  I mean, the kids had fun, too, but I really loved it.  Anyway, it was a painting party at The Polkadot Palette.  It started with the kids getting a smock, picking their spot, and selecting a subject.  They could paint a football or soccer ball.  Whitley and David (the two nearest me) both chose soccer.  The impressively cheery instructor stood on a small stage and showed the kids, step by step, how to make their chosen sports balls.  They painted for a solid hour before a pizza break.  I was so amazed by how well the kids did!  Whitley was really in to it and did a great job.  Believe it or not, I even let her do most of the work!  hee hee  Stacy and George were helpful hosts and served yummy cupcakes in the shape of a football.  Whitley was soooo excited to celebrate with Drew, and David was his usual sweet self, loving on me.  It was nice to chat with Mee Maw while the kids painted, too, as she assisted Kiki with his work.  The boy of the hour was happy and charming, of course, and when all was said and done, had the best football painting in the room.  :)  Thanks so much for inviting us, Drewby!!  We loved it!  (Did I mention I'm going to have my birthday there next?)

Pausing for a photo.
Uncle George sneaks away from pizza to put some serious finishing touches on  David's.  It looked awesome!
The whole crew- those were some pumped up kids!
Whitley and David were so excited to sit by Drew for the singing part!
Smiling proudly with the finished product!
