Whitley's Birthday Month

October has arrived, and Whitley's birthday month is officially underway! And today we got off to a great start. Dave and Terri arrived at 10:00 this morning for a little "Cars 2 Birthday Brunch" with us and Tom's parents before they head back to FL. Dave and Terri were very cute, showing up with parts of their invitation taped to their shirts. They figured with such a fancy affair, they'd better have proof they're on the list! :) Whitley had a birthday doughnut, and had so much fun singing and blowing out the candles, she immediately put them back in and said we were doing it again. (Her grin was so precious- who could refuse?) Opening presents rounded out the morning. Then, at 2:30, Grammy, Whitley and I drove the the Carolina Inn on UNC's campus to meet Sweet Aunt Mae Mae, Melanie, and Stacy for "afternoon tea". Mae Mae arranged the whole thing and treated the group in honor of Whitley's birthday. And what a treat is was! We had our own room and were served delicious sandwiches, sweets, and scones. Everyone selected a tea (Whitley got hot chocolate), and was given her own tea pot! I definitely left full and happy from a nice meal and delightful company. Birthday doughnut round 1.
Right on cue!

Whitley was just soooo excited all day about her parties.

Birthday doughnut round 2! (There is one bite missing, if you look closely.)

Another wish comes true!

Having so many favorite people around her at once made Whitley so happy; we had to keep asking her to face forward and look at the camera. She just kept spinning back to beam at Grammy and Terri. :)

Woo hoo! We love Cars!!

Present time! This was a fishing pole, with fish included. :)

Another "Sally" book from Grammy and Papa. Whitley really enjoys those.

Funny grin for Papa.

Tea time!

Love my baby girl!

Grammy had a wonderful time, too.

Whitley even got more presents! Activity book, crayons, paints, stickers- so many of her favorite things!

Look at all these goodies. Mmmmm.

The Carolina Inn really did a beautiful job, and gave Whitley such special treatment as the birthday girl. Look at that darling cupcake plate! And they brought her a PB&J sandwich, too. :)

Pretty Swazzie got a little birthday attention, too, with a new Pandora charm from Mae Mae.

Just the girls. (That's what Whitley and I kept saying, leading up to the tea.)

Mae Mae, thank you SO much! Whitley and I are so very fortunate to have such a sweet aunt! Love you!
