The Last Week of Summer Vacation

Well, we've just about finished up our last full week of summer vacation, and we have certainly tried to make the most of it. To be practical, we tried to fit in a few check-ups so we don't have to deal with them during school, but we also found time for some fun. Tom golfed one day last week, and I went out to eat with friends. Stacy and the boys came over to play for a while, and Tom and I saw a movie. Friday night, we met up with the Kelletts for dinner and ice cream. Their son Nolan is really moving now, and Whitley got a kick out him "chasing" her around their house. (They were both crawling!) On Saturday, Tom, Whitley and I drove out to Winston-Salem to check out its children's museum, and wander through Old Salem for a bit. The museum was very interactive and had some cute exhibits. My favorite was the Alphabet Zoo! Here are some pictures from Friday and Saturday:

Whitley liked watching Nolan,
And thought Ted was pretty funny.
Whitley's favorite letter!
See the little fish?
Magical-sounding chimes on the Billy Goats Gruff bridge.
Whitley waves in Fairytale Forest.

This was a replica of an actual little cottage in Old Salem.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears! This was their cottage. :)

Grocery shopping at "Food Lion."
Whitley checks out her groceries, while Tom carries all our gear! We were loaded up!
