New England Trip 2010: Vermont

Last Monday, we flew into Boston and drove up the VT to stay with Tom's parents on Burke Mountain. On the drive up, we stopped at one of our favorite spots for a breakfast lunch- Polly's Pancake Parlor! Mmmm, there is just nothing like those oatmeal pancakes with chocolate chips. When we arrived at the condo, Mike and his kids were there, as well, and they were so excited to see Whitley! Scott, Mychaela, and Liam spent the afternoon showing her toys, making her laugh, and including her in their games. Whitley reveled in the attention of her older cousins; she just adores them and the four played well together. When they all rolled out on Wednesday, things settled down a bit, but Whitley still enjoyed the quality time with Grammy and Papa. We spent a lot of time coloring, painting, playing play-doh, and blowing bubbles on the porch. We also did a little bit of sight-seeing, visiting some animals at a few local farms and taking some nice family photos at a nearby chapel. Thursday was Papa's 75th birthday, and we celebrated by going out to dinner and having cake and ice cream. Fortunately, the weather was gorgeous (almost) throughout our VT visit, so we could fully appreciate our daily walks and stunning mountain views.

Polly's Pancake Parlor!

When you visit, you have to take a picture on Trot Trot. I think this is Whitley's best one yet!

The deck was a fun place to play and enjoy the weather.

Mmmm. Eating ice cream at Chappy's! This was a cute place, and Whitley even ordered her own cone. "I need my pink!"

Silly girl. :)

Papa makes the biggest bubbles.

Whitley stopped making Grammy run around the chapel long enough to snap a quick photo.

She was happy on Daddy's shoulders.

Family photo! A rare occurrence.

This is a good one, too.

Happy birthday, Papa!
