Mommy's Birthday and Family Fun (Part Two!)

Tom and I show off our "Meet and Greet" passes.

Whitley flies down the slide!

I told y'all I like to celebrate my birthday for a week! :) The second half of the fun took place in MN, as Tom, Whitley and I flew up to spend a long weekend with my parents. We arrived on Thursday night, and we all watched Survivor together. Tom and I get a kick out of discussing the show with my parents, so it was fun to enjoy all the twists and shockers together. The next day we pigged out at the Mystic Lake buffet, and Mommy and I shopped while Whitley napped. Friday night, Tom and I saw a comedian we love at Daddy's casino. Daddy got us tickets to the show, AND passes to the Meet and Greet! I was so thrilled to meet Joel McHale, for Tom and I watch his show every week. On Saturday, my actual birthday, we went out to lunch and headed over to the Mall of America for the afternoon. While there, Whitley rode lots of rides and met Dora and Diego! Similar to last summer, she was soooo excited to see the characters, but was a little wary of approaching them. Mom made me a birthday cake, and Whitley ate lots of icing and ice cream! Sunday was a beautiful Mother's day, and so we played at the neighborhood park a bit in the morning. Then Mom and Dad cooked a huge, delicious lunch of steak, salad, and baked potatoes before we flew home. Sunday night, we drove over to Dave and Terri's to pick up Rocky, and they treated me to a yummy birthday dinner, too! Dave even compiled a CD of birthday songs to play in the background.
I truly had the best birthday ever! Thanks so much for a perfect weekend, CC and Day Day! And thanks for the meals, Stacy, George, Dave and Terri!
Joel McHale and I. (I was so star struck!)

Whitley is all set up with sticker books and coloring pages at lunch on Saturday.

Diego and Dora were so cute! CC brings shy Whitley in for a closer look.

I liked this ride, actually. I thought it was fun; the balloons went pretty high!

Day Day took Whitley on the Carousel, and Whitley new exactly what animal she wanted. She was hollering and pointing at the Zebra the whole time she was in line. (Thank goodness she got her pick!)

Rough-housing with Day Day is always good for a laugh.

CC is so much fun! She knows the best games, and tries out all the playground equipment.

Dave made me the most colorful birthday cake/cupcake tier, and Terri decorated with bright flower arrangements! Whitley tried to help me blow out the candles. :)
