I am so sorry that I abandoned this blog for so long! It truly weighed on me because I enjoy doing it, and I think it is important to chronicle my family's activities for future enjoyment. Unfortunately, I was very busy with work-related responsibilities that occupied a lot of my time. Specifically, I wrote test items for the NC 6th grade Social Studies test, and I completed my National Board Certification Renewal process. Both required a lot of computer time, so I felt little was left for blogging. Anyway, summer is here, I am back, and I'd like to catch up on some events of the year since Disney. Here we go!
| Making Valentine's Day cookies at Mae Mae's- an annual treat! |
| These kids are getting good! |
| Whitley and I brought some aprons to share with the boys. |
| Whitley learned to swim!! She took lessons at a local gym on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings for the months of February and March. Tom was also able to work with her on the weekends during "Family Swim" which I think was crucial to her success. She improved so much! She learned how to doggy paddle, float, swim on her back, and even jumped in by herself, went under, and swam back to the side of the pool. I was so impressed!! |
| Stacy and George hosted a Mardi Gras party this year. Fun!! I painted my face and got a lot of compliments on it. |
| George brought back a lot of cups, beads, King Cakes, Reuben sandwiches, and other festive items from a recent trip to New Orleans. He also bought really cool masks for Stacy and him! |
| Stacy cooked delicious Jambalaya, and George grilled Cajun sausages. They had Hurricanes to drink, too. They thought of everything! Very Gucci party!! |
| Mom and Dad watched the kids during the party. The next morning they wanted their faces painted, too. :) |
| We attended the Durham Bulls Fan Day event as a new season was kicked off at the ball park. It was a very chilly day, but Whitley had fun meeting the characters. Gotta love Wool E. Bull! |
| Checking out the field. |
| Whitley enjoyed making Valentine's cookies so much that I bought springtime cookie cutters. They were delicious! |
