Tom and I weren't too interested in signing up for a character breakfast or lunch on this trip, because we really weren't sure of how Whitley would react to the costumed folks. After all, she idolizes Dora, but meeting her at the Mall of America always freaked her out. However, we were thrilled to see Whitley adore every character she saw. She'd smile shyly at each one, clearly star struck, before offering a big hug! Of course, she also got each autograph, thanks to the book from CC and Day Day. After I realized how much she enjoyed meeting the princesses in particular, I made it my mission to get her to as many as we could. (Those ladies are elusive, and there's always a line!) Tom and I worked out a system at Epcot; I'd run ahead to the meeting spot and get us a place in line, and then Tom would arrive with Whitley just in time for the princess's arrival. I think we all had a favorite. Snow White was mine; I thought she was so cute! Whitley liked her, too, but upon talking to her, still couldn't resist sharing, "I'm going to meet Belle today!" Oh, well. Belle has been her favorite since she could talk. Snow White didn't miss a beat, either. She told Whitley, "Well, can you tag her for me? We've been playing tag all day and now I'm it!"
The first character we saw was Donald Duck, dressed up for Frontier Land. Whitley was initially hesitant, but after she saw Drew and David get hugs and autographs, she understood the process. She loved all the characters after that.
We stepped into a fairy land to meet Tinkerbell, and this girl, Rosetta. Whitley calls her the red fairy.
Tinkerbell was chatting away the whole time. I thought her bubbly personality was quite fitting.
She complimented Whitley on her shiny jacket and necklace, and asked her, "Do you like to tinker, too?"
Ariel and Prince Eric were the longest line. The Little Mermaid is Tom's favorite. hee hee
These two loved David! Ariel gave him a big red-lipstick kiss on the cheek.
Whitley was first in line to meet Snow White outside of Epcot's Germany.
And then we headed over to Morocco to greet kind Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.
(The girls were all bundled up this day because it was quite windy!)
