For our Disney trip, we all rented a large seven-bedroom house called "Simba's Sunset" just ten minutes from the park. I think it was George's idea to get a place together, and we were thrilled with the decision! It was so much fun to hang out in the evenings as one big family, and share snacks, breakfasts and dinners. The kids found a lot to amuse themselves, as there was a pool, multiple TVs, a pool table, and two different game systems. Whitley and Drew even shared the Toy Story room, each sleeping in one of the twin beds. I sure didn't think the two would actually settle down and go to sleep, but each night, we'd listen to a few minutes of giggling on the monitor, and then they'd be quiet. When CC, Stacy and I first tiptoed in to find them snoozing soundly, we were so tickled at how cute they were. Disney wore them out! (Of course, that first evening, David figured out right away that there wasn't a bed for him, and he said he was going to sleep on the floor. But CC and Day Day saved the night by letting him sleep in their room.)
There were tons of pool toys! Unfortunately, it got a bit chillier than expected over the weekend, so that first night turned out to be the best for swimming. The kids were pumped to get in, despite the growing dark.
Whitley kicked around the pool for a while like this, but then flipped forward and got stuck with her head under the water! Day Day and I both jumped in to rescue her, but I should've stayed on the side. I didn't actually accomplish anything except getting my clothes, slippers, watch and everything else wet. Day Day had Whitley out in an instant, and she was fine. More surprised than anything, saying, "CC did you see me? I was all under!" CC was a hero, too. She snatched the camera out of my hand right before I jumped! :)
Drewby played a little b-ball.
