Well, the museum may have been the highlight of the weekend, but we still had plenty of fun with Drewby the rest of the time! On the way to lunch, Whitley and Drew got sooo silly in the car. They giggled nonstop, mostly over their new hit song, "Old McDonald Had Some Poop". No more lyrics are even needed, I'm sure they'd tell you, as that line alone is HILARIOUS! :) We attempted to eat lunch at Chili's, but that ended up being a bit of a debacle, so we ended up at Smithfield's. It was packed, but the food was good, and the kids ate OK. Once we arrived at home, we got geared up for a Pirate Treasure Hike! Drew carried a map that I printed off the Internet for him, and was so cute peering under and around trees for the treasure. (Along the way, Tom would randomly hide baggies with treasure chests on them and candy inside.) The rest of the afternoon was spent playing Star Wars figures and princess castle. We took it easy in the evening- Easy Mac and a movie, followed by a double bubble bath. Both kids went down like angels, and in the morning, I awoke to the sound of Drew flushing the toilet coming through the monitor. By the time I got upstairs, he had changed out of his pull-up into his underwear, and was putting on some pants. I couldn't believe how grown-up and independent he was, getting ready for his day! For breakfast, Tom made chocolate chips and M&M pancakes. Then, we had time for another hike and a few Dora episodes before Stacy arrived to take Drew home. Poor baby didn't want to go, he had such a great time! Well, sweet Drewby, you are always welcome to stay again!
Being silly in the car.
Sharing fries and hushpuppies at Smithfield's. I had promised them balloons, and would you believe they both picked "blue" when there was only one blue one ready on display? A VERY nice lady offered to inflate another one for them, which is a good thing. Whitley was nearing a breakdown over it. Sweet Drew was willing to wait for his blue one!
