"Boo at the Zoo"

Yesterday, we drove out to Asheboro to participate in "Boo at the Zoo"! Kids are to roam the park in costume, and participate in a few games. Since Whitley (finally!) fell in love with her princess dress, we were pumped to take her somewhere she could show it off. I was surprised that not many kids actually dressed up, but Whitley didn't seem to mind. Several fellow zoo patrons smiled at her, calling her "little princess". She played a couple of games, but mostly just enjoyed looking at the animals. It was an absolutely gorgeous day- even getting down right hot later in the afternoon. Here are some photos!
Whitley eats a piece of chocolate she "won" playing a bean bag game while we get a super-up-close look at a female gorilla!

Our princess carried her "Boo at the Zoo" bag the whole time. It was her "orange purse".
We rode the Carousel, of course! Whitley immediately knew she wanted the giraffe and was so excited. I let her buy her own ticket, and she very sweetly said, "I want to ride carousel, please! I need ticket!"

Whitley also liked swinging from the bars at a few of the exhibits. She said she was "like a monkey!"
Here, she swings in front of the...
Grizzly! I think this is the only time I've seen him awake. He was so cute!
My baby girl loves me.
In this game, the kids threw little frogs in the lily pads.
I was so hot that I figured Whitley was, too, so I changed her out of her dress. She was pretty upset about it, but the elephants and a ride on Daddy's shoulders cheered her up!
