Disney's Port Orleans Resort: The French Quarter
This year, we decided to stay on the Disney "campus" and use all of their amenities. Disney picked us up at Orlando International and drove us to our hotel. We didn't even have to get our own luggage at the airport because they picked it up and took it directly to our room. That is my kind of traveling!
Whitley sits back and relaxes in the hotel lobby while I checked us into our room. Disney cartoons play incessantly in the lobby, in the room, in the dining hall, etc.
Whitley and I enjoyed a Star Wars video game at the resort before we headed out to Downtown Disney.
The pool area was a lot of fun. There was a giant dragon, whose tongue Whitley slid down into the pool. I tried it too, but didn't have as much fun. Maybe I was a little scared. So what?
These statues carried on the New Orleans theme around the pool area.
Whitley's favorite game at our local bowling alley is this one with the basketballs. How nice of Disney to include this for our vacation!
There is a boat that takes guests from the resort to Downtown Disney. Whitley took this photo of her parents as we waited for the boat.
There's always something to be happy about at Disney!
The view of Downtown Disney from the boat. What a busy place!
Glenis and Hayden drove Grammy and Papa up from Sarasota and joined us for the evening at Ragland Road Irish Restaurant. That was a nice treat!
Whitley sported her new Star Wars shirt from Hollywood Studios as she sat between Mommy and Grammy at Ragland Road.
We had live entertainment at the restaurant with these Irish dancers.
Here is the crowd in this big booth. Like most American Irish bars and restaurants, Ragland Road claims that everything in it was imported. Who am I to question it?
One of the treats of staying at a Disney hotel is getting to watch a movie on the lawn. This one was perfect! We watched "The Princess and the Frog" (which was set in New Orleans) at our New Orleans-themed hotel.
Another ride down the dragon tongue.
Can you guess if this is our first or last day at Disney World?
