Debby Downpour!

We spent the last week in June down in Florida with CC and Day Day.  Grammy and Papa were so kind to let us stay in their Siesta Key condo;  we all love the pools and private beach at Whispering Sands, as well as the fun restaurants and bars within walking distance.  The first three days were generally overcast, but pleasant with moments of bright sun.  The Gulf was lake-like smooth, and we enjoyed some nice days at the beach.  Then, tropical storm Debby arrived, and she brought almost non-stop rain!  We definitely made the most of it, though.  Mom, Dad and I went shopping one day, and another afternoon Mom and I took Whitley to see the new Pixar movie, Brave.  (She loved it!)  As long as it wasn't lightning, Tom and Whitley still swam.  Tom is a great swimming coach, and Whitley made great progress, floating, paddling, blowing bubbles, and going under.  She swam every day of the trip, and would beg to stay in the pool no matter the weather.  And of course, we still went to happy hour each evening and had fun dining out.  :)  Our last day, we never made it to the beach due to the heavy rain, so we spent some time watching the water from the Towers' lounge area.  Whitley loved the pool table!  Unfortunately, "Debby" made no effort to leave the FL coast, so we ended up cutting our trip a day short.  Tom canceled our plane tickets, and we headed back to NC in the "Grandelade" with CC and Day Day.  It was a smooth ride home, and Whitley was a good traveler.  (Good thing!  We'll be riding to MS pretty soon!)

We spent one night on the road, driving back to NC. We wanted to get a place that had a pool so Whitley could get in one more swim.  She's pretty happy about it!

(Wasn't much of a pool, though!  Ha!)
