Grammy and Papa visit!

Christmas in July! After a heavy snowfall canceled our trip to Florida, we were pleased to schedule a trip for Grammy and Papa to visit us here! They arrived Friday, the 14th, and stayed with us this past week. Tom, Whitley, and I parked at the airport so we could greet them, and Whitley could not have been more excited. As we made the long trek to the South West terminal, Whitley cheered the whole time, "We're at the AIRPORT to see GRAMMY and PAPA! Grammy and Papa are on an AIRPLANE! Mommy, where ARE Grammy and Papa?!" Several travelers smiled at our bouncy, chipper girl as we passed, but they should have seen the enthusiastic welcome Whitley gave her grandparents as they stepped off the escalator. She raced away from Tom and me, and threw her arms tightly around her Grammy's neck! It was truly very sweet. Her excitement didn't wane all through the long evening. At dinner with Dave and Terri, the latter remarked, laughing, "Well, you certainly wouldn't know it's past her bedtime." No, you wouldn't. My girl was wound up! Saturday was exciting, too, as we exchanged Christmas presents! Whitley approved her gifts by immediately donning her new Belle princess dress- even removing the beloved pink dress to do so. Then Sunday, we visited some Raleigh sites, with Whitley most impressed by all the taxidermied animals at the Natural Sciences Museum. She entered every room with an enthusiastic, "WOW!!" and has yet to stop talking about the dinosaurs. Grammy and Papa watched Whitley during the day all week, spoiling all of us! It was such a treat to head to work and back home without a stop at daycare. I know Whitley enjoyed the quality time at home with Grammy and Papa, and we were certainly thankful to have them here. :) Whitley watches Papa open a gift.

And he helps her with one, too!
Ooooh, a new princess dress!
VERY exciting!!
And on it goes!
Tom made a yummy king cake for us all, and Whitley was thrilled to help with the sprinkles.
They should be smiling- that cake was delicious.

Pumped about the live fish!
