A Medieval Time!

What a nice weekend we had! CC flew in Labor Day weekend and watched Whitley during the school days last week before Day Day joined us on Wednesday. They drove her down to Myrtle beach with Stacy and her boys on Thursday; Tom and I waited for the work week to end and arrived Friday evening. It was just a quick weekend va-cay, but packed full of fun! Whitley loves to "write" so CC brought her a little notepad as a treat!

Saturday, CC and I took Whitley and Drew to the beach. They ran, splashed, and played nonstop- CC and I alternating which one we chased- with only one tiny snack break.

Friday evening we celebrated Judy's birthday with Stacy's delicious strawberry cake! (I don't know why everyone is puckering in this picture. That's kind of funny.)

Singing to the birthday girl!Saturday night, CC, Stacy and I took Whitley and Drew to Medieval Times! None of us had been there since our BHS Senior trips, but we remembered liking it. Since Drew is really into knights these days, and Whitley, princesses, I thought it might be a hit. Whitley was a little overwhelmed at first by the atmosphere and all the people in costume, but CC came to the rescue by purchasing a "light-up magic princess wand"! (Who doesn't need one of those?) Whitley was fascinated by it and snapped out her cranky mood.

Stacy and Drew sit in the knight's chair.
In our seats, waiting for the show to begin! This was the "Red Knight"- the one for our section that we were to cheer for. And wouldn't you know? He won the whole tournament and saved the day!! (And threw one of his winning carnations directly to CC!)
Some of the other contestants.
Whitley holds the $1 flag CC bought for her. I know Whitley's arm must have been sore the next day because she waved it from the moment the show started, the entire car ride home, until we put her to bed. She's such a little cheerleader!
When we exited the arena, club music was blaring and some girls were getting down on a dance floor. Well, Whitley immediately started dancing herself...
She and Drew watched for a while, dancing closer and closer until they decided to join right in the little crowd.
Sir Drew stands in front of the castle. Such a fun knight!
