Whitley is 20 months old today, and has been learning new words steadily since about 18 months. Stacy is right- the talking stage sure is fun!! Everyday she says something new, and you never know what she'll repeat! Here is a list of her current words! (Though I'm sure I'll leave some out.)
Daddy, Mommy, Whitley, Rocky, Drew, CC, Day Day, Papa, Bailey (Stacy's dog), Molly (Dave's dog), Alma (her daycare teacher), Dora, Boots, Diego, Tico, "Aw Man" (Swiper), Map, Backpack, Elmo, cracker, cookie, pizza, snack, more, apple, cheese, milk, "All done," spoon, ice, door, outside, candle, ball, book, baby, star, boat, bath, bubble, animal, whale, fish, doggy, bear, piggy, frog, monkey, owl, duck, bird, bee (which she uses for all bugs), alligator, penguin, and octopus (these three don't sound quite right, but she's consistent!) "meow," "moo," "hiss," "baa," "quack," "neigh," "roar," "vrooom," "shhh," nose, eye, tummy, ear, down, again, yucky, paci, bye bye (I've heard her say "Hi" and "Hello" once or twice, but "bye-bye" is definitely her favorite.), "I did it," wow, "whoa," "whee," and of course, mine, and No! Here is a video of her identifying some animals! She's pretty excited, so some of it is unclear. :)
