Sittin' with sweet Stephen. :)My darling sister and her family hosted us and the Gundersons at her house on Sunday for a Mother's Day meal. We arrived around 12:30, and Drew and Whitley were so excited to see each other! They squealed, hugged, and played chase for about the first ten minutes. When the Gundersons came, Whitley and Drew welcomed them from the porch. Whitley was pleased to show her aunt and uncle the dress they'd given her the day she was born, and Drew proudly offered the plant his Mee-Maw had bought Mary. We all filed in and sweet Mae Mae had gifts and cards, as well. (I got a lovely bracelet and fancy chocolate, and Whitley received a Mother's Day Berenstein Bears' Book!) Then the fun really began! Drew and Whitley loved all the extra attention, smiling, playing, and wearing us all out! Whitley went up and down the slide 100 times with anyone who'd help her, and loved lovin' on Mae Mae and Melanie. Her cousin Mel even taught her to say, "Whee!" as she slid. Lunch was delicious, and Stacy joked that it was like Thanksgiving, as everyone was in need of a nap afterward.
I cannot believe I've been a mom for nineteen months now!! It is such a joy and privilege to raise little Whitley, as she continues to grow sweeter and cuter everyday. Her love is such a blessing to Tom and me. We truly are so fortunate to have her, as well as our own wonderful mothers. CC and Grammy, we missed you and hope you enjoyed your own Mother's Day celebrations!
