As you may know, we
Whitleys like to make our birthdays last- a dinner here, a free dessert there, open presents and cards as they arrive... Stacy and I even like to refer to it as our "Birthday Week". Well, Day Day had a big birthday week himself this year, as he arrived here in NC on the date- November 5
th- and spent a fun, long weekend with us before heading back to MN on Sunday. Wednesday night, George and Stacy served up a delicious meal of ribs and salad, followed by a moist and tasty, homemade carrot cake. (Tom and I contributed macaroni-and-cheese to the dinner, which I thought was pretty good, myself.) Stacy and I had a funny little game for Daddy to play called, "Which Daughter?" He awarded us points for various things, and then we ended it by saying, "We don't need to count the points, 'cause when it's all said and done, with a dad as sweet and loving as you, we've both already won!" (And it's very true!!)

Whitley spent that night with everyone at Stacy's (Her 1st night away from me!), while Tom and I headed home, and then Mom and Dad brought her back to us Thursday, when they stayed at our house. It sounded like they had a lot of fun at the little slumber party. Drew and Whitley even shared a bath, which Mom said amused them both immensely!
Saturday, we drove up to Ringgold, VA for another great visit with the Lindsey clan! We pigged out, as usual, and Whitley, Drew and Lila played well together, especially as they shared Lila's blocks! (You'll notice Whitley is wearing her LSU cheerleader outfit again. Well, we did play #1 Alabama that day!)

(Day Day takes Whitley to the pasture to look at some of the Lindsey's cows with their new, twin calves.)

(Whitley LOVED this little tricycle of Lila's.)

It was
sooo good to have quality time with my parents again, and I love that we've gotten to celebrate so many birthdays together this year. We hope this upcoming 62
nd year is a wonderful one for you, Day Day, and we can't wait to see you at Christmas! Love you!!!
