Holiday Weekends

Whitley smiles in her new San Francisco tee.

Tom and I get our picture taken on Lombard St.- "the crookedest street in the world."

It's been a nice couple of weekends for the Watson family. Last Friday, Tom and I flew out to San Francisco to attend the wedding of one of Tom's best college friends, and we took some time off to see the sights, as well. Whitley's Grammy and Papa came to stay with her while we were gone, and they had a lot of fun! I don't think Whitley asked for us a single time, which made me a little sad, but also relieved. After all, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy my trip one bit if I knew she was wandering the house looking for her mommy! As it was, Tom and I knew Whitley was in good hands, and we had a wonderful time, both as tourists and wedding guests.
Labor Day weekend has been fun and relaxing. Saturday, we visited the Davis household to hang out with the fam, and Stacy's best friend, Angel. Whitley and Drew got a little wound up playing "Marching Band." (I've included a picture and video.) Sunday, we spent most of the day at home, except for a quick trip to Maple View Farms for some late summer ice cream. Mmmm. Today, Whitley and I didn't even leave the house. :) It's been so nice to spend three full days in a row with Whitley! Going back to school and daycare has been rough!
I've posted pictures from San Fran and Labor Day weekend below. Enjoy!

Tom and I enjoy morning drinks (Irish coffee and a mimosa, respectively) at the Buena Vista.

The bride and groom provided trolley rides from the hotel to the wedding and reception for us guests. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day, and the trolley ride was a fun way to see some of the city!

Tom and I outside of the reception site.

Sunday was the only cloudy, chilly day of the long weekend. We spent the afternoon at Alcatraz, and really enjoyed the audio tour. Here we are outside of "The Hole"- one of the solitary confinement chambers!

A windy ride back to the mainland.

Whitley and Drew play "Marching Band" in Drew's room.

Angel holds Baby David! (He looks a little unsure!) :)

Whitley had a cookies-n-cream cone. And a funny, sneaky smirk!

One bite at a time with Daddy's help.

Maple View Farms is a pretty spot, and kids love playing on the hay bales.
Drew is really clear on this video, but if you listen closely, you can hear that Whitley repeats nearly everything he says!
